Spring Events in East Tennessee
Festival season is now in full bloom across the region. You can step back in time to learn about traditional Appalachian traditions, listen to live music, or test your hand at fly fishing for trout in the cold mountain waters.
Most of these events are FREE, making it easy to enjoy a full calendar of adventures and discovery of this bountiful region known as the 9 Lakes of East Tennessee.

- Now through October: First Fridays Concerts on the Green- Morristown
- Mar 23: 5 County Norris Lake Clean-Up– Hickory Star Marina and Flat Hollow Marina 9-1pm
- Mar 21-24: Big Ears Festival– Knoxville $$ (some free performances)
- Mar 30, Apr 6: Wildflower Walks at Norris Dam State Park- Rocky Top
- Apr 6: Mosaic Art Festival– Clinton – Award winning festival of art.
- Apr 6: Thunder Road Festival Bike and Car Show- Rockwood 10-4 pm
- Apr 19-20: Great Smoky Mountain Fiber Fair– Townsend
- Apr 20-21: Rossini Festival– Knoxville- Live music, street food, and entertainment.
- April 22: Windrock Shindig– Oliver Springs- $$
- Apr 26: Sheep Shearing Days- Museum of Appalachia- Clinton
- Apr 27: Ball Play Ramp Festival– Tellico Plains- the tasty food of spring.
- Apr 27: NATS Poker Run- Norris- annual MTB event (free to watch)
- Apr 27: Powell River Regatta– Tazewell- annual kayak race (free to watch)
- May 3-4: Blooms, Brew, and BBQ– Sweetwater- 10 am to 8 pm- the smoky sweetness of spring.
- May 3-4: Clinch River Antique Festival– Clinton. One of the best antique events in the state.
- May 3-4: Tellico Plains Trout Festival– Tellico Plains –Workshops, music, food, and family events.
- May 18-19: Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival and Games- Townsend ($$)
- May 18: Tennessee Mountain Laurel Festival- Wartburg- Hikes, live music, vendors, and food.
