A Toast to Good Health and Good Cheer
The 9 Lakes Region is a four seasons destination for outdoor recreation. During the holiday season, it is traditional to share a toast for good health and good cheer. What better way to toast the Season, then to share an activity with friends and family outdoors in an event that is fun, and supports the health of the beautiful waterways of the 9 Lakes Region.
Dive in and participate in the First Annual East Tennessee Polar Plunge scheduled for January 1 on Cherokee Lake at the TVA Dam Recreation Park at Cherokee Dam. The day’s events begin with food trucks, music, and the Parade of Penguins featuring costumed registrants who are participating in the Plunge. Spectators are encouraged to cheer on their favorites during the parade and the plunge. Best of all, proceeds of this event will benefit Keep Tennessee River Beautiful in their mission of educating and inspiring people to take action to create a clean, healthy, beautiful TN River Valley watershed.
Parking and entry to the event are free for spectators. Registration for participants is $25.00. Every registrant will receive a commemorative t-shirt.
The 9 Lakes is home to nine beautiful lakes, rivers, and streams that provide endless miles of world class fishing, boating, paddling, and clean water for swimming and drinking. Kick off 2019 by diving into the waters of conservation, stewardship, and good health. Cheers!
