Celebrating Independence Day in the 9 Lakes Region
200 pound anvils shooting into the sky, boats out on the water, and folks sitting by the river. You’ll find these scenes and many more as people across the 9 Lakes Region celebrate Independence Day in America. Whether you are in the mood for a parade, fireworks by the lake or 4th of July traditions from more than 200 years ago we have a few ideas for making the most of your time on an East Tennessee Independence Day vacation.
June 29th
- 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm – Red, White and Boom in Tellico Plains
- 1:00 pm to 10:30 pm – Rockin’ the Docks at Lenoir City Park– accessible by boat or water.
July 4th
- 12:01 am – First in the Nation 4th of July Parade in Gatlinburg. ACM Award nominee Conner Smith is the 2024 Grand Marshal.
- 8:30 am- Deer Lodge- Celebrate Freedom parade and celebration.
- 9 am to 3 pm – Independence Day Celebrations and Anvil Shoot, Museum of Appalachia in Norris (This is a ticketed event.)
- 9:30 am – Farragut 4th of July Parade
- 9 am to 2 pm- Norris Day Celebration in Norris with fireworks at 9:30 pm
- 10 am- Mossy Creek Station Independence Celebration and Parade
- Rocky Top 4th of July festivities at Templin Athletic Field with fireworks at 10 pm
- 2 pm – Patriot Festival in Pigeon Forge with Joe Nichols in concert at 8:30 followed by fireworks
- 2 pm to 10 pm Kingston – Smokin’ the Water, Parade & Fireworks
- 3 pm to 10 pm- Sweetwater Independence Day celebration- fireworks.
- 5 pm to 10 pm – Knoxville’s Festival on the 4th at World’s Fair Park. The music finale with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra is at 8 pm
- 5 pm – Clinton 4th of July festivities at Lakefront Park. Fireworks at 10:00 pm
- 5 pm – 4th of July festivities at Morristown’s Cherokee Park featuring Little Texas in Concert
- 5 pm Fourth of July on Mabry’s Hill in Knoxville, the highest east of Downtown. (Watch the City of Knoxville’s Fireworks from the hill.)
- 7:30 pm – Oak Ridge Community Band at A.K. Bissell Park with fireworks following
- 10 pm – Gatlinburg Fireworks and Drone Show from the Space Needle.
