Dogwood Spring: Four Weeks of Festivals in the 9 Lakes Region
When the dogwoods are blooming, the festival season has begun in the 9 Lakes of East TN.
Each year, we look forward to spring festival season for the variety of events that are offered in the region. Some of these events support art and cultural events. Some celebrate the roots of the reason. Many are free.
So, here are four weeks of spring festivals that you won’t want to miss.
- Apr 1 through Sept: Whitewater rafting on the Pigeon River season booking now for the 2025 season.
- Apr 1-6: Tulip Festival at Oakes Farm– Corryton- stroll through thousands of blooming tulips at the farm.
- Apr 3: Brushy Mountain Tours re-opens for the season. Tour this historic, haunted facility.
- Apr 7 through Nov: American Museum of Science Bus Tours- Explore the Manhattan Project History
- Apr 12: Earth Day Arts Festival- Narrow Ridge Earth Literacy Center, Washburn- A celebration of nature’s arts, live music, free.
- Apr 12-13: Rossini Festival– Knoxville- International street fair with food and live music. Benefit for the Knoxville Opera company.
- Apr 12-13 Spring Garrison Days– Fort Loudoun Historic State Park- Annual event showcasing life on America’s first frontier.
- Apr 18-Jun 8: Dollywood’s Flower and Food Festival- display of flowers, music, and tasting pass.
- Apr 25-26: Rock the Country– Greenback, TN- 2-day music festival and camping.
- Apr 25-27 Dogwoods Art Festival– Knoxville- Spring celebration of arts and flowers.
- Apr 26: Ball Play Ramp Festival– Tellico Plains- Feast on Appalachia’s early spring bounty.
- Apr 26- NATS Poker Run– Norris- Annual MTB event to benefit the upkeep of the NATS trails.
- Apr 26: Powell River Regatta– Tazewell- annual kayak race (free to watch)
- May 2-3: Blooms, Brew, and BBQ– Sweetwater- 10 am to 8 pm- the smoky sweetness of spring.
- May 3: Clinch River Antique Festival– Clinton. One of the best antique events in the state.
- May 3-4: Tellico Plains Trout Festival– Tellico Plains –Workshops, music, food, and family events.
- May 18-19: Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival and Games- Townsend ($$)
