Go Downtown- Shop Small, Shop Local

Our towns and cities are already decked out for the holidays.  Shopping downtown supports local businesses, artisans,  and supports the heritage of these communities.  The 9 Lakes region is chock full of small downtowns offering up Appalachian treasures.  Antiques, crafts, and locally produced culinary products are sure to please the most discriminating shopper.

Gather your friends and family.  Stroll the sidewalks and admire the shops decorated for the holidays.  Light up the Season by shopping where you live and play.  Dollars spent in the community, stay in the community.

• Knoxville is known for its holiday cheer and special events.  Follow the Peppermint Trail through downtown to sample holiday treats through Jan 8, 2023.

• Kingston and Harriman are rolling out the red carpet for shoppers on Super Saturday, Nov 26.  See what is new in these two historic downtowns. onhttps://www.roanechamber.com/super-saturday/

• Now through Dec 31- Farragut is guiding shoppers with annual Light the Park.  For believers, the special Santa delivery box is ready for your letters to Santa.

• Join in on the Clinton Christmas Stroll on Nov 26.  This walking tour features a Live Nativity, caroling, and samples of holiday wassail.

• Support a local farmer and shop the annual 2022 Holiday Farmer’s Market in Oak Ridge- Dec 3, 10, and 17.

• Downtown Morristown merchants  invite you to attend the  Holiday Hoopla on Nov 26 12- 7 pm Selected stores will open at 10 am. Bring the family to Santa’s workshop to make ornaments.

•  Small Town Christmas on Nov 26 from 5-7 pm is the City of Sweetwater’s favorite time of year.  This family friendly, pet friendly event will shine a light on this magical community.

• Del Rio Christmas Bazaar on Dec 3 is an event that many craft lovers wait for each year.  All the items for sale are home- made crafts and locally produced edibles.  Surrounded by the Appalachian mountains, Del Rio is a community rich in history and lore and worth a drive to discover this event.
