This was the site of the 1982 World's Fair, a six-month exposition and global event featuring new technologies in energy and conservation. Attendance was recorded at 11,127,786 visitors. it was the last successful World's Fair held in the U.S. Today, the park is home to the Knoxville Convention Center, the East Tennessee Veterans Memorial, and more.
